RTE 1 / 6 The Rivergate skate centre has been set up in the Rivergate Shopping Centre in Dublin.
The skate centre is part of a new chain of leisure centres that has been opened in Dublin and Cork, and will be the first in Ireland.
It is set to open in the spring and will open up to adults of all ages.
A full line-up of products has been put together, including roller skaters, roller skating gloves, roller derby shoes, and roller skating boots.
It will also have a bar, lounge, bar and restaurant, all of which are already open at the Rivergates skate centre.
There will be a dedicated line of products to cater for the unique needs of the skaters of the River Gate skate centre, as well as a range of fitness classes.
There are plans for more new skaters to join the River Gates team, with plans for additional skate spaces to be added in the future.
“Our aim with Rivergate is to make the skater experience for all of our guests as easy as possible.
The Rivergate skate centre will offer a fun and friendly place to skate, and we want our guests to have an enjoyable time in a relaxed environment,” said Katie O’Connor, Rivergate skater coordinator.
“The skate centre also includes a large variety of other amenities such as lounge areas, a bar and kitchen, and a small bar, so you can make sure that everyone has a great time,” she added.
Rivergate skating centre has already had two locations opened in the area, but the new location will be at the end of the line between Rivergate and Newtownards.
“We have seen a lot of interest from people looking for a place to skate for the first time.
We are happy to offer our customers a place that is close to Rivergate, close to our busy shopping centre, and close to the new Rivergate shopping centre that is being built nearby,” Ms O’Connors said.
The roller skater range includes roller skating gloves, skates and helmets, skate masks, skaters shorts, roller skated socks and roller skatons.
It also has a range to cater to different types of fitness and health issues.
“It’s going to be a very friendly and relaxed place for people to go and skate,” Ms Dolan said.
There’s a great mix of people from all walks of life, so it’s a really good combination,” she said.
