Skateboarding is coming to the shores of Canada, where some retailers have closed their doors.
The skateboarding retail chain skate 3 has been open for five years in Winnipeg and Saskatoon, selling skate equipment and accessories to skaters and their families.
Owner John Huggins says he was looking for a new location when he decided to open his own skate store.
“We are excited to announce that we are closing the doors of our shop in Saskatoon,” he said.
Huggins said he didn’t know the location of the new location until he saw the news and it was hard not to be impressed.
“I have been doing this for 25 years and this is something I can’t believe,” he told CBC News.
Skate 3 was originally opened in Winnipeg in 2008.
Huggs said his shop was the first in the city to have a skatepark, but it has since expanded to include other shops and a skating rink.
The store’s closing was announced Tuesday on the company’s website.
