The Fox Sports family is in discussions with Westside skates to sell a majority stake in the business to the skate brand that has made a name for itself in the state of Utah.
The Westside franchise has been based in Provo, Utah, since 1997.
The company has been owned by former Provo Mayor Ken Johnson since 2004.
The team, which is in its second season, is owned by an unnamed individual and was created as a spinoff from Johnson’s skate brand.
The team has played in the Mountain West Conference and was named a semifinalist for the 2019 NCAA Championship.
The franchise had a season-ending playoff loss to Boise State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in April.
The sale of the West Side franchise to a new entity is expected to close by the end of this year, Fox Sports reported.
The sale includes the team’s operations, facilities and brand, the report said.
