Anand Bhatt, who has been a leading voice of dissent in the West, will not make the movie ‘Sarsad Saraswathi’ available to theatres until October 1.
Sarkarsanath, a fictional character, is a former bureaucrat who works for the government.
In the film, he is forced to flee the country due to a corruption case and his attempt to return was thwarted by the BJP government of Narendra Modi.
Bhatt’s film, titled Saras, is slated to be released in November.
He had earlier said he would be willing to work with BJP to make the film available in theatres.
“The film is my project and it is my personal project.
I have been very clear about that,” he had said.
“I will not work with the BJP, the BJP has decided to put the film out at this time, but I am willing to do so.”
Bhatt has also made other controversial films like ‘Chandu’ and ‘Kabhi Kavar’.
