A Canadian company is making a pair of “osiris” skate shoes.
The brand, Osprey, says the new design uses a “flap and hinge” system to let the wearer adjust the height and angle of the shoes.
It’s also built with “specially designed” materials that help keep the shoe lightweight.
The “osiri” brand, which is based in Calgary, has about 2,000 pairs of its skate shoes in stock, says Osprye.
“These are some of the first things that we’ve created,” says co-founder and CEO Rob MacKenzie.
“There’s some really cool things going on with these new shoes.”
They’re made with “Sculpt-o-Mat” rubber, a material that’s also used in high-end shoes and is said to be tougher than the more common synthetic rubber.
“It’s one of the best materials you can buy in the world, and it’s really durable,” says MacK.
Ospreys own skate shoes are priced at $180.
The company has also launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.
